VEA contains GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper complex), a naturally occurring tripeptide first isolated from human plasma in 1973. GHK-Cu has been a subject of cellular research for over five decades, with published studies examining its role in tissue remodelling and antioxidant signalling. Research examines three primary areas. Copper transport: GHK-Cu is studied as a biological copper carrier, transporting trace copper to cells to support metabolic and enzymatic processes. Published research in Organogenesis (2010) examined its role in wound healing models. Extracellular matrix remodelling: Studies have examined GHK-Cu's signalling effect on matrix metalloproteinases and collagen synthesis, with research suggesting it promotes breakdown of large collagen aggregates and stimulates fresh collagen and elastin production in tissue models. Antioxidant pathway modulation: Research has examined GHK-Cu's interaction with inflammatory markers and antioxidant enzymes including superoxide dismutase, with studies published in Cosmetics and BioFactors exploring its oxidative stress modulation in cellular environments. For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary consumption. Not for use in diagnostic, therapeutic, or clinical procedures.
